On a February day in 1861, PresidentElect Abraham Lincoln made his last speech to the people of Illinois in Tolono, Champaign County before assuming the Presidency. He then left Springfield's Great Western Depot en route to Washington, D.C. February 11, 1861. There are 33 states in the Union.
